Rhinecontainer is an advanced, dynamic and growing company. Since 1978, we have been running regular container line services between the Benelux ports and the various Rhine and Mainports. We are now one of the leading barge operators.
In a regular schedule we operate the largest and most varied Rhine fleet of barges and barge combinations. Rhinecontainer offers its clients a fast, frequent and economical intermodal transport alternative to and from the Rhine states.
We are an neutral provider of both liner services and tramp services.
Rhinecontainer has a reliable and efficient network which includes a number of strategically located Wincanton terminals. Our neutral position means we also have frequent services to an unlimited number of terminals.

TÜV Certified
Rhinecontainer was one of the first major barge operators to obtain ISO 9001 certification. TÜV Rheinland was responsible for the certification. The certification gives clients the assurance that Rhinecontainer meets strict quality requirments and that continiuty is assured.
Environmentally friendly
The enormous scale of waterway transport means that relatively little energy is required. This low level of energy expenditure has two major benefits: less fuel consumption and lower emissions of CO², NOx, SOx and particulate matter. Inland shipping acounts for only a few percent of total CO² emissions by the Dutch transport sector.
Rhinecontainer supports measures being taken within the industry to reduce even further the emissions of different harmful substances. Soot filters have been installed, ship’s engines are being adapted in phases to conform with the standards, and ducted propellers are being installed to reduce energy consumption and emissions.
